The Jackson, SC Cemetery Survey Project

Description, Documents and Photos

This survey was completed in July and August, 2002, by volunteers from the Augusta Georgia Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Jackson Memorial Cemetery is located within the city limits of Jackson, South Carolina. The property is laid out so that a person entering the cemetery through the archway is facing Northeast. Therefore we designated the corners of the property as North, South, East & West.

GPS Coordinates for the four corners are: North - N 33° 20.139', W 81° 46.873'; South - N 33° 20.045', W 81° 46.799'; East - N 33° 20.081', W 81° 46.831'; West - N 33° 20.098', W 81° 46.945'.

To reach the cemetery from Beech Island, SC (just South of Augusta, GA):

During the survey, we divided the cemetery into four quadrants, North, South, East and West. The 'Cem Quad' column indicates in which quadrant the marker is located.

To locate a marker by name, go to the marker index.

To view photos of the markers with 'Photo' in the 'Photo Avail' column, note the marker number then click on the link for the list with the appropriate photo.

The survey organizers wish to thank the owners of the Jackson Memorial Cemetery and the people of Jackson, SC for their strong support of this project. Their excellent assistance made the project rewarding and fun.
