Highland Brethren (Progressive) Church
Note: Addresses and Telephone Numbers based on the 2003-2004 telephone directory. If incorrect, please check online "telephone directory" resources and send the webmaster the corrected info.
Note: In the early 1880s, some members of Ten Mile Church of the Brethren, Marianna PA, broke off from the original church. At the time, the new church was known as "Progressive" and the members were called "Progressives" in church history and local newspapers because they did not follow Brethren practices as strictly as did the Church of the Brethren.
However, over the decades, Highland Brethren Church and Ten Mile Church of the Brethren have little differences in practices and beliefs. In fact, for many years now, the two churches have shared the same pastor and sometimes conduct services together.
