A Christmas Story

The story of Christmas, and the accounts of the birth of the Messiah.

This is a story about the Christ child that is told by writers of the early church. Levi, or Saint "Matthew, the apostle, was a Tax Collector before he met Jesus. He spoke Aramaic, and Greek fluently. His book "The Gospel According to St. Matthew" was awarded the place in the Bible as the first book of the New Testament. One of his main purposes was to show the Messiah, whom the prophets in the Old Testament had predicted has now come in the Person of Jesus" Saint Matthew gives his account of The Birth of Jesus Christ  click here.

The apostle Paul, often traveled with a medical doctor, named Luke. Saint Luke's gospel was probably written between A. D. 59 and 63. Saint Luke sites the history of The Birth of John the Baptist   click here in Chapter One, which gives the relationship between John the Baptist's mother, Elizabeth and the Virgin Mary, mother of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Luke's gospel gives the true meaning of worship when he writes: "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest. And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
