John was buried on the 6 December 1929 in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. GRAVE LOCATION: Plat K Block 22 Lot 6 Grave 3 West. After John passed away in 1929, Sarah managed the Cumberland Hotel on 2nd South and 3rd East in Salt Lake City for a number of years. We children used to visit her there and were so impressed that our grandma was in charge of such a big place. Another fond memory of grandma was her occasional visits to us on a Sunday afternoon when she would always bring a gallon of maple ice cream. This was a treat for us as we had no money for such things in those days. Unfortunately, I have no such fond memories of grandpa as I was only two years old when he died.[i]
